Life Hurts… But Nature Heals

Our life right from birth is full of pains, most of them are not physical pains we experience during ill-health though but something emotional, a feeling or mood.


Living in a big city like Lagos could make it worse, most people often sleep with hurtful feelings and emotions and wake up with another.


If you live in apartments where you share a bathroom, kitchen etc with neighbours, it could be challenging to deal with the certain attitude of some or you could be the one with a negative attitude.


If you often use commercial transportation in a city like Lagos, you will have to deal with certain negative attitudes from some of the drivers and the motor boys (conductors) as well as some annoying fellow passengers and the insensitive traffic at times could now rub pepper on the wound.


In the workplace at times, there might be a boss, a colleague that often pulls out your emotions and makes you think oh God, can I get a better job and leave this place?


For those who are learning a skill, as an apprentice, your seniors and at times some bosses could make you feel worthless.


In high institutions, some lecturers, project supervisors may as well push you to the wall and make you fee so frustrated.


To some, it is financial problem, some landlords can make you feel God has stopped answering your prayers due to the constant rent increments among others. Paying for electricity bills of power you don’t use and other levies in a rented apartment can be so frustrating and discouraging to the extent that your Endocrine and Nervous system will be out of place.


Few people have to deal with a negative attitude of a lover, husband or wife on daily basis. When you are not getting reasonable expectations in a relationship, it could hurt to the bone marrow.


Health issue is what some are dealing with, they have tried several medications and therapy but it seems nothing is working and in some cases, some people are dealing with disabilities. Disabilities are emotionally traumatic, many have committed suicide because of social rejection and lack of interest from close relatives due to certain disabilities.


And lastly, constant anger and bitterness is what some people put themselves into, they don’t just get along with anyone, everyone irritates them, they only see themselves as the only person standing right.


Well, life hurts and as true as that statement is, we can as well be hurting ourselves.

Prolonged anger, jealousy, bitterness, stress (physical, emotional, thermal and chemical stress), mixed feelings, emotional pains etc can all have a tremendous bad impact on our overall health.


It might not be possible to avoid all the above situations but you can definitely take the first step not to be a contributor.


Somatoform disorder or emotional disorder have been linked to several health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, infertility, Autoimmune problems, depression, digestive disorders and cancer, so please, take life easy.


Life hurts, but don’t hurt yourself. Let go of negative feelings immediately, it is not always easy as said but you’re left with no other better option than to let go. You will need yourself to deal with more hurtful things life will throw at you.

The good news is that Nature is always ready to heal you, so please take advantage of it.


What to do

After a stressful day, take some carrot juice, it will help rejuvenate your Endocrine system and your cortisol level could be balanced.


If you have the means, diffuse Sandalwood essential oil for 30 minutes before bed or you drop some into your water and bath with it before bed, this will calm your nerves and give you a better sleep.


Pistachio and coconut snack (added to granola and unsweetened yoghurt) can be a great meal to soothe your emotional pains.


Dandelion tea, Ginseng tea, Fresh ginger tea can all be included in your routine beverages, they will soothe your aching emotions and give you clarity.


I have developed a wonderful tea that helps a lot in managing stress, it contains Eucalyptus radiata, Mellisa officinalis etc. Many people find it enjoyable and helpful when they take in the morning before their daily activities, it helps you with the emotional ability you need to adapt well to any negative situation.


Avoid sugar, avoid alcohol, and before going to bed, always take a moment and think about the good things that happened during the day and anticipate such moments.


Finally, don’t always spend your leisure time indoors in front of the television or video games, go out and feel nature.


Parks, Beach, Swimming pool, Forest views, Waterfall views etc can all have a tremendous impact on your emotions and heal you of the effects of accumulated stress.


Try it and see how nature truly heals.
